Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Ours was fairly low key. Our plan was to "skip" it (no presents between Mike & I), until I heard this, and I had to do it. I named a hissing cockroach after Mike and the kids, and it was a hit (the littlest among us showed their gratitude by chewing on the certificate... a great honor). Now everyone wants to go to New York to visit their bug!

Mike put together a great dinner and dessert: heart-shaped pizzas and powdered sugar dusted blondies. YUM!

The dessert even came with our own personalized hearts made by Mike with messages on the back...

The kids are getting too old for full-blown Valentine's celebrations so they didn't hand out Valentine's cards at school, but PJ had a celebration at daycare and came home with some great swag...

Again, she showed her gratitude by chewing on each of her items.

Happy New Year

These guys, fried pickles and a black and tan... I can't think of a better way to celebrate the new year...

The Perfect Tree

Birthdays!

November is a very busy month for our little family. Both my step-kids have birthdays in November, as well as my sister and grandmother just to name a few. For the latter two I got fabulous scarves and mini umbrellas. For A & D, it was a little more elaborate...

There were banners...

And cakes...

And presents...

Most (all but the #10 cake) made my illustrious husband Mike. He is fabulous. Lucky us...

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. There's no present pressure (except the nagging thought that Christmas is just around the corder), just delicious food, family, usually cold weather, and a raging fire (my dad doesn't do small fire)... it's wonderful! This year was especially wonderful because not only were there two adorable mobile little ones to enjoy it with, but most of our family came as well! So many in fact, that we had to cart all the food up to my dad's cabinet shop and set up a long line of tables up there to eat dinner. Cold, but honestly I didn't really notice because of the wonderful food and company.

12 Months... 1 year

Happy Birthday my sweet baby girl! We all love you so much... For your birthday party, you were a little social butterfly, having fun with all the kids and babies. You had fun opening your presents, and especially loved the tissue paper. You were mildly curious about your cake at first, but then you really got into it and managed to paint both your and your daddy's face with frosting. This year has flown by, and we have been ever-so-lucky to be able to watch you grow into the loving, hilarious, wonderful little person you are! I can't wait to see what you do next!!
